…The devil… was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)
We all have voices in our heads, and often these voices are echoing lies that we believe and incorporate into our lives. Lies often become embedded into our minds through trauma, things that have happened that should not have happened. They worm their way into minds and personalities and become a part of us; but with the Truth, coupled with the blood of Jesus, we can reject and conquer each lie we have adopted into our identity.
We are diving deep into the negative emotions that hold us back from our destinies. Today we will pray about fear. Fear rules like a dictator if we let it. It is the lie that shapes our imaginations to believe worst-case scenarios like: if I trust, I will be hurt. The feeling of being unprotected leads to anxiety and more distrust.
Fear is appropriate at times; its purpose is to get us out of danger, but when we believe lies of fear, everything gets out of proportion.
God has the antidote for fear: it is love. Perfect love drives out fear.
When we encounter the love of God and receive it into our hearts through faith and prayer, we can uproot the lies that have deposited fear into our hearts and souls.
Jesus paid the ultimate price so we could be delivered from fear. Just as He raised the dead, restored withered hands, and strengthened lame legs, He is able and willing to deliver you from fear. Our sin killed Him, so we can live free from fear. Pray this plain and simple prayer out-loud…
Father,
I thank You that You have made a way for me to come out of the bondage of fear to learn to walk in freedom. Because of the price You paid for me and the promises you have made in your Word…
I believe and declare that I will no longer be ruled by the fear of death. Even when I’m walking in frightening circumstances, I will refuse to fear. I receive Your perfect love, poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit, dispelling all fear of death.
I believe and declare that I will no longer be ruled by the fear of people. Even when people are attacking me, I refuse to fear. I receive Your perfect love, poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit, dispelling all fear associated with people. I will walk in love and freedom in all my relationships, whether or not my love is reciprocated, for I am secure in Your love for me.
I believe and declare that I will no longer be ruled by the fear of incompetence. Even when I’m challenged and in over my head, I will refuse to fear. I receive Your perfect love, poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit, dispelling all fear of failure.
I believe and declare that I will no longer be ruled by fear of the dark, fear of epidemics, diseases, plagues, or sickness of any kind. I refuse to fear these afflictions. I receive Your perfect love, poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit, dispelling all fear of darkness and malady.
I believe and declare that when troubles come my way, I won’t be overcome by fear. Trouble is inevitable on this side of Heaven, but I won’t take the bait. I refuse to to be moved. Instead, with Your love in my heart, I will remain confident in your deliverance. I will face my mountains, speak words of faith, and watch those mountains move.
I believe and declare that I will not be tormented and ruled by fear any longer, for I have been set free from the bondage to fear through the love of my Father God, the redeeming power of Jesus Christ, and the constant presence of the Holy Spirit in my life.
In Jesus’ Name
Amen
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me. (Psalm 23:4)
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell.
Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident. (Psalm 27:1-3)
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. (Psalm 91:5,6)
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.” (Psalm 91:14-16)
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
