The Lord is good and does what is right;
he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
He leads the humble in doing right,
teaching them his way.
The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness
all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. (Psalm 25:8-10)

“In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:3

It’s easy to get lost where our calling and purpose is concerned. We take a wrong turn – take a wrong job – and all sorts of things fall apart as a result. But we have a God who cares about every detail of our lives and is intimately concerned with our location, location, location. He is a Heavenly Dad who guides and leads His kids. Even when we mess up, he makes himself available to lead us back on the right path. He teaches us what to do and how to do it. His leadership is motivated out of unfailing love – His love simply cannot let us down. Yet it’s clear that these benefits are for those who follow his design and pattern. We don’t have the luxury of making up our own rules; he has already established them. I cannot imagine our teenage son deciding to make up all his own rules and ignore ours. Thank God, he’s not like that! So let’s not be like that either. Let’s follow the precepts for life that God has established. Afterall, they aren’t difficult. Love is so much easier than hate. Forgiveness, while challenging at first, is so much easier than bitterness in the long run. Health is easier than sickness, and provision is easier than poverty. God’s ways work best. Need a GPS? Align your heart with His:

Father,

I have been lax at following your command to love you and love others. Please forgive me. Wash me clean. I align my heart with your heart of love, and I receive your leadership in my life. You are my heavenly GPS, telling me where to go, when to turn, when to proceed to the route. Take me to the root of your Word; I will feed on it and cling to it.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
