The show starts with smartly dressed Chenbot in a light blue sleeveless mid-length dress. She tells us with delight that for the first time this summer a veteran will be sent packing. Welcome to Big Brother! And after the recap, we’re told that there will be a special appearance by Evel Dick. Hmmm, this could be interesting.
Brendon and Jordan are on the block. Julie tells us “Chivalry is not dead”, as Brendon used the Power of Veto to save his fiance Rachel and leave himself on the block. Jordan is well-liked by much of the house, so Brendon is the clear target. Rachel sees the writing on the wall and breaks down into tears. With Rachel, he says he’s going out with a bang with the “surprise” bomb they tried by fooling the House, but the House knew better, even if he didn’t know they knew better. Jeff is already dreading the time Rachel is alone and “whining and screaming his name and every piece of fruit and vegetable reminds her of Brendon, I’m going to rip my head off”.
Daniele is counting her votes, knowing that if Jordan leaves instead of Brendon, she is in deep trouble. Meanwhile, Brendon is going to try to sway Kalia, Adam and Porsche over to his side. Porsche, too, is already dreading Rachel going crazy if she doesn’t vote in favor of Brendon. Adam says if he sends Jordan home, then Jeff is going to come down on him, but privately he says he’s not sure how he’s going to vote. Shelly, meanwhile, is going to do what it takes to get Shelly to the end of the game. She knows it pays to look out for #1.
Porsche is invited to Daniele’s HoH room. (Hey, dig that sexy, hooded sleeveless black outfit Porsche is wearing. I don’t have a clue what they call it.) As they’re talking, Rachel barges in and then leaves again. Porsche is with Rachel and says Rachel is going to be around even if Brendon goes and she doesn’t want to make the rest of the house uncomfortable. Rachel blows up, Brendon shows up and Porsche walks off, “I can’t help you now, girl”. Nobody is being sympathetic with Rachel with all her whining (and past history as HoH Queen of the House twice). Rachel melts down again and, as they lie down on the hammock outside, Brendon has to keep her from turning into a total puddle draining into the pool.
After the break, we’re back to being live in the living room. Adam does a “traditional elf dance” for Julie. Now Julie mentions Evel Dick and his watching and critiquing her every move (on his own reality TV web site). He says she would have played completely differently if he was in the house, that “she is playing it so hard, so fast it’s terrible”. Next he moves to Dominic, who he says made a bigger target out of himself by associating with Daniele, like Nick did in Season 8. It’s kind of amusing to watch him watch the show and critique her every word and move!
Now it comes down to the vote. Brendon starts with the pre-vote comments as Rachel’s “Big Brother husband” (they had a mock wedding that the whole house got involved in and appeared on the live feeds but hasn’t aired on CBS). Jordan keeps her comments short. Only Rachel and the spineless Porsche vote to evict Jordan and save Brendon. The others vote against him in a 5-2 vote. Brendon is out of the House. Brendon does a few quick slaps and hugs and then shares a long hug with Rachel and swings her around. He then steps out to the cheer of the audience and the scrutiny of the Chenbot. Julie asks him why he chose to save Rachel instead of himself and he says, “Love.” We get clips of comments by some of the other house guests with Daniele saying “what goes around goes around”.
Now for a new twist! No, it’s not a dance although it almost becomes one as they grab a seat to listen to the Chenbot. Julie tells them that the “next house guest to be evicted will have a chance to get back in the game. That is all I am telling you for now.” Now, America Votes! The vote is to determine if Keith, Cassi, Dominic or Brendon become the wild-card house guest to “battle with” the next evictee for determining who will leave the house. So, next eviction will be between one person in the house and one person who is voted back to get a chance to stay in the game.
Next, the HoH competition begins. It’s called “Checkmate” to answer questions about three previously evicted house guests (Keith, Cassi, Dominic). The last person answering questions correctly with the others answering questions incorrectly for any of the questions wins the HoH. They’re quick on the buzzers, even before the Chenbot finishes the question, like a game of Jeopardy. Rachel takes herself out with a too quick buzz on a wrong answer. After the house guests drop out one by one, Kalia is the last one standing and wins as the first newbie HoH!
Who will Kalia end up nominating and who will end up being the evictee that will battle America’s Vote choice to return back to the game? Stay tuned!
