The season of Advent, which begins today, is one of remembrance and anticipation. We remember the first coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of the world.
Yet it is also a season of anticipation, as we know that God has promised to come again.
The central theme of Christ’s first advent was reconciliation of man to God. Christ entered the world to change our story with God. Dead in sin, it took God in human form to redeem us. And those who truly follow Christ will prove their belief in Him by doing what He did. In other words–we will love, rescue, and redeem others.
Just as our story with God was changed, it is our calling now to change the story of others.
To celebrate advent, and remind us of this holy calling, I am going to share the stories of children throughout these next weeks. One child each day until Christmas day. Please join me in prayer and giving to help these children overcome the terrible stories they are facing. Help change their story this Advent season.
