The Krispy Kreme Challenge takes place today in Raleigh, NC. There are 7,500 participants ready for this race and the money goes for a great cause. The race, a fundraiser for the N.C. Children’s Hospital, challenges participants to run two miles, scarf down a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, then turn around and run the two miles back. It starts and stops at the N.C. State Bell Tower, with the Krispy Kreme shop on Person Street the midrace snack site.

Last year, the event raised $55,000 for the hospital.

Children’s HopeChest will have a number of marathon’s to help raise money for orphans including Hell Walk, but I don’t think we’ll add and Krispy Kreme doughnuts to the mix. It might make for a messy event in more ways than one!
