I’ve been preparing for my midterm in Doctrine of Salvation II by going over the notes and listening to the lectures again. As I went over the common grace section, I was struck by how much more I love the Lord because I realize how much more loving He is. He loves His creation, He loves His creatures, even those who rebel against Him and will spend eternity in hell in payment for that rebellion. He still loves them and desires them to repent and follow His commandments. In relation to this, Professor Tipton said that on the one hand God ordained that Judas would betray Christ but on the other He commands Judas to love the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul and strength. We don’t understand that, it seems contradictory, but it’s clearly taught in Scripture and we have to accept it.
I am typing up notes (based on the lectures) for my midterm. I will post it when I’m done.
Updated to add: I’ve decided not to study this way after all (typing notes), I’m going to make flash cards instead, sorry!
