Why go to WalMart and fight over a cheap laptop when you can buy it over the Internet in the comfort of your own home? You can get a Dell Vostro 1000 with a AMD AthlonTM 64 X2 Dual-Core processor TK-53 (1.7GHz/512KB), 15.4 inch screen, 120 GB hard drive, 1GB, and Windows XP home edition for only $399! Not bad!
I’m glad they’re giving customers the option on some of the computers to configure it with XP. I guess on the lower end computers they aren’t powerful enough to run Vista, in fact you can’t configure their higher end computers with XP.
As much as I hate to take the leap I really do want a more powerful computer, so I think it’s going to be Vista. Bummer.
