If you missed the story on the military blogs or Michelle Malkin, go check out what happened to the car and how it looked like the guy wasn’t going to be penalized for the crime. He’s a lawyer and the state didn’t want to pursue it. The Marine was heading off to Iraq and they were sure that the lawyer would keep asking for continuances until the Marine was gone. The lawyer offered to pay the deductible and have the Marine’s insurance pay the rest. But the Marine pursued the case and with the help of the milbloggers it got noticed. Read about it here.
But justice prevailed and the lawyer was slapped with a $600 fine that he had to pay to the Semper Fi Injured Marine Fund, he had to pay for the damages to the car and he’s on probation for a year. Michelle Malkin has the account of what happened in court.
