Oh. My. Heck! These right-wing nut job theocrats who think they have a mandate from God to be in office are going to be the death of freedom in this country, right? Who do you think said it? George Bush? Um…no it was Democrat, Kwame Kilpatrick, the mayor of Detroit who got caught lying under oath about his affair with his chief of staff. Evidently he can’t leave his job because that would displease God.

The mayor said he had been “disobedient to God” and added, “I’m getting my whipping for it.”
He said “God allowed this to happen in my life” — “this,” apparently, being a reference to the scandal resulting from his infidelity — because of his disobedience.
And he said he intended to remain mayor “until God tells me to do something else.”

OK, so let me get this straight, the guy has an affair and then lies about it under oath (where he placed his hand on a Bible and tooke an oath “to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God”) breaking many of the commandments of God which would clearly displease God and now he’s worried about God’s displeasure?
And if he’s under punishment from God, wouldn’t that include losing his position? With all the problems facing Detroit, shouldn’t they have a mayor that isn’t under punishment from God 🙂
