Evidently, the Secret Service ordered security to stop screening the crowd at an Obama event:

Security details at Barack Obama’s rally Wednesday stopped screening people for weapons at the front gates more than an hour before the Democratic presidential candidate took the stage at Reunion Arena.
The order to put down the metal detectors and stop checking purses and laptop bags came as a surprise to several Dallas police officers who said they believed it was a lapse in security.
Dallas Deputy Police Chief T.W. Lawrence, head of the Police Department’s homeland security and special operations divisions, said the order — apparently made by the U.S. Secret Service — was meant to speed up the long lines outside and fill the arena’s vacant seats before Obama came on.

Of course you know that the left is going to think this is Bush’s attempt to get McCain elected. Sounds pretty far fetched even for the left, huh? From a comment on this post:

Recall what I said some time back about the three things that would have to happen for McCain to beat Obama? Looks like the GOP (President Bush controls the Secret Service) might just be considering the option #2.

Of course the Secret Service is so corrupt that could be used by Bush to take out Obama to get McCain elected. And of course Bush is so incompetent that he wasn’t able to seal the deal when he had the chance even after the SS gave him the opening.
