Obama has taken yet another tack in his determination to dig himself out of the hole he created:

“It is true,” Obama added, “I am amused about this notion of eltitist,” given that he was raised by a single mother who for a time relied on food stamps and married a woman of humble means as well. “We both had to finance our entire law school educations borrowing money, and we paid off our student loans about five years ago, six years ago…
“We lived for the first 13 years in our marriage, up until three years ago, in a one-bedroom condo without a garage,” Obama said, “which means, if you live in Chicago, you are scraping ice from your windshield” in the morning.
“That’s when you know we’re in political silly season.’’

He went to an elite private school in Hawaii, he want to Columbia and Harvard Law School. Even if he had a humble beginning that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t cultivate an elitist attitude especially if being around it all the time. Just being in the Senate cultivates elitism because so many of the Senators think they are there to run the lives of the little people.
And notice how he was roughing it in Chicago: a condo. A condo without a garage is considered lower class? Message to elitist: most young couples start out in apartments, you’re doing good if you have a condo. He might have realized that if he weren’t such an elitist. Here’s some good advice for Obama.
Update: Since there seems to be some confusion over what I said here, I thought I would clarify. I don’t it will do any good with the Obamanites but I’ll try anyway. In the quote Obama is making the point that it’s amusing to him that he is considered elite given his humble background. My point is that his background also includes elite schools. His elitism could have come from his background, his time in the Senate or even his time around members of his party (I’ve read a number of comments from Democrat pundits who don’t see anything wrong with the comments, thus demonstrating their own elitism).
People are also hung up on the fact that I commented on his condo and are really missing the point with that one and even when I explain it, they don’t get it so I give up. No, I don’t think it’s wrong that he lived in a condo and no I don’t think he should be homeless.
