Well, if this rumor is true, the Hillary supporters can declare victory, their protest and lack of support for Obama, may lead to her being added to the ticket. Though, I’m sure they wanted a lot more (like the presidency).
In one sense it would be a good move since it brings the Hillary supporters back into the fold and would give Obama a bump in the polls but it could be a problem with the rest of the electorate since she is such a polarizing figure. Those of us who are toying with the idea of a third party candidate may be pushed into voting for McCain just to ensure that she isn’t give such power. She would be way too close to the presidency for the nation’s good (it’s bad enough that someone as inexperienced as Obama would be in there, let’s not add her to the mix 🙂
BTW, I’m not really buying this rumor. Even if Obama were worried about his poll numbers (which I doubt since he’s got a good shot at gaining points during his convention), I doubt he would want to add the Clintons to his team. Why add that much baggage? Why bring in someone who would overshadow his candidacy?
