Lefties, it’s time to rejoice! You have won, Dobson has thrown in the towel:

I want to tell you up front that we’re not going to ask you to do anything, to make a phone call or to write a letter or anything.
There is nothing you can do at this time about what is taking place because there is simply no limit to what the left can do at this time. Anything they want, they get and so we can’t stop them.
We tried with [Health and Human Services Secretary] Kathleen Sebelius and sent thousands of phone calls and emails to the Senate and they didn’t pay any attention to it because they don’t have to. And so what you can do is pray, pray for this great nation… As I see it, there is no other answer. There’s no other answer, short term.

Well, they could do what some of us are doing, read about what’s going on in DC but don’t let it impact your life. Realize that the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord and trust him (Proverbs 21:1). Spend the time you would have making calls and talking to people who could care less about your opinion, reading the Bible, meditating and praying to God. And then in 2010 join the campaign of the politician who is attempting to replace your unresponsive representative. The only true power we have is at the ballot box and I think in 2010 we should kick everyone out and start again 🙂
BTW, I don’t think that Dobson should despair. The religious right may have lost their influence in DC but the pro-life movement is making inroads in public opinion:

A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves “pro-life” on the issue of abortion and 42% “pro-choice.” This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.

Maybe the loss of 45 million lives is starting to make an impact.
