Don’t ask me why I was watching (you have to watch something when there’s no “House” on), but on NY1’s “Inside City Hall,” Al D’Amato just endorsed Fred Thompson.
It’s not (I repeat not) a surprise that the former New York senator would chose to oppose Rudy Giuliani, his hometown candidate. As I got into a bit in this column, the two men have had a longtime feud going on.
The feud also involved Mr. Giuliani endorsing Mario Cuomo for governor in 1994 against Mr. D’Amato’s hand-picked candidate, the much-loved-by-conservatives (cough) George Pataki.
