Well, it looks like American ships better start arming their crew or face the possibility of more deadly attacks. Once the pirates see that they can’t get rich off American ships, they’ll leave them alone but not before they attempt to take revenge.
Congrats to Obama! He was tested and gave the right orders! Now the pirates know that America won’t tolerate our ships being threatened and will fight back with deadly force if necessary.

Asked about fears that the shooting of the 3 pirates could lead to more violent confrontations with pirates in the future, Vice Adm. Bill Gortney, commander of the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet told reporters at the Pentagon Sunday, “Yes. There’s second and third order effects to every action. And this could escalate violence in this part of the world. No question about it.”
Admiral Gortney also said that Capt. Phillips was in “imminent danger” when U.S. forces shot and killed three armed pirates holding him hostage on a lifeboat in the Indian Ocean.
