I’ve noticed there are some who are skeptical about the motive for the firing. They believe she was fired for her Christian beliefs but if she wasn’t meeting her contractual obligations by not attending scheduled appearances and continuing to use her public appearances to promote herself, not the pageant, then I can see why Trump relieved her of her duties:

Trump told us Carrie refused to appear at around 30 events on behalf of Miss California USA. He says Prejean was contractually bound to appear and she just wouldn’t do it. He doesn’t think her attitude has anything to do with her politics. It doesn’t do the right and Christians any good pointing to her as a persecuted Christian when she was fired for not meeting the obligations of her contract.

As a Christian she is bound by her word:

ESV James 5:12 But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

If she signed a contract with him to attend scheduled appearances, then she should attend the appearances or her word is no good and she dishonors her Lord.

ESV Exodus 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
