Hey, it could happen in Nashville these days. The floodwaters burst aquariums at an area mall restaurant … including an aquarium containing piranhas … which can survive in fresh water. The restaurant says all its fish have been “contained”, which is great news … if true. If I were a state official, I’d want proof that every piranha had been caught and was accounted for. Can you imagine piranha establishing themselves in American rivers? I’m not actually joking about this. Wikipedia says aquarium piranhas have been found in some American freshwater bodies, but they usually don’t make it through the winter.
