With the exciting announcement of the Darwinius massilae fossil this week, evolution has been a popular topic around the internet.  However, a lot of questions and misconceptions about evolution have also surfaced.  Is there any real “proof” for evolution?  Can a single fossil act as the “missing link,” tying all past and present speicies together?

So often, it seems, the conflict between science and religion comes from misinformation about both sides.  For those struggling with questions like these, we invite you to check out the following resources and get a better understanding of what exactly “evolution” is:

• Understanding Evolution: This site provided by the University of California Museum of Paleontology offers descriptions of evolution, the history of the theory, and proof of why it still stands as valid today.
• Question 2 from BioLogos.org: “What is Evolution?” gives a brief overview of some of the important aspects of evolution, including natural selection and speciation.
• Coming to Peace with Science by Darrel Falk: Darrel’s book not only provides a clear, easy to understand description and defense of evolution, but also discusses why it does not need to compromise one’s belief in the spiritual.
