The BioLogos position sits between two extremes: those who insist modern science is the only source of truth and knowledge on the left, and those who insist on an ultraliteral reading of the Bible as the only source of truth and knowledge on the right. In between these extreme lie many other voices and views on the relationship between science and religion.

To help our visitors sort through the diverse voices in the discussion of science-and-religion, and to understand where BioLogos sits among them, we have completely redesigned our “Leading Figures” section. The section has expanded to include 35 biographies of important contributors to the diverse understandings of science, religion, and their relationship. These figures are sorted into seven different categories, ranging from the “Anti-religious Non-accomodationists” on the left to the “Ultraliteralists” on the right. We have chosen labels for each group to help show how they span
the range of possible viewpoints. They indicate what we think are
the critical and defining characteristics of the group, rather than the
name that the group has chosen for itself.

Our hope is that this new collection of leading figures will give readers an idea of the large gap between the voices on the left and right, and how BioLogos hopes to provide a bridge between science and religion.
