Prayer Is Answered

Matthew 21:22

Central Theme:  A good reason to pray is because God answers prayer.

Introduction–Bring a watch that does not work.  Throw it away.  Bring a straw with a hole in it.  Throw it away.  I don‘t use things that don‘t work.  I am so glad that prayer always works for people who believe in Jesus.

                  Have a member read Matthew 21:22.

I.     Tell the story of Solomon and how he built the temple.

A. The Solomon prayed and asked for God‘s help.

B.  God answered Solomon‘s prayer.

II.     One big reason why I pray is because prayer works.

A. Prayer brings me help.

B   Prayer brings me comfort.

C. Prayer brings me good ideas–when I listen to God.

D. Prayer releases God’s power in my life and the life of others.

1.  I prayed for many years that God would send our son a Perry.  He was a man who had mentoring many young men in the ways of the Lord.  God sent the Perry to our son.  They became great friends and God used Perry.

III.     Things I have learned about praying

A. You cannot pray too much.

B.  You can’t pray wrong.

C. You can’t ever learn everything there is to know about prayer.

D. Every person is different in the way they pray.

Conclusion  Prayer works–use it in your life.
