As I look upon my life with dread,
I think of the world that waits ahead–
The splendor of the streets of gold,
The wisdom of the prophts of old
I think of Jesus on His throne
And how he bore the cross alone.
I hear Him pleading, “Come to me,
For rest and life eternally.”
I see the angels in garments white
Proclaim God’s Son’s redeeming right
To cleanse the mortals here on earth
And make them sinless as at birth.
All these things I see and hear
As I think of God’s love for me so dear.
