“They forgot what he had done, the wonders he had shown them.”  – Psalm 78:11

“Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.”  – Psalm 105:5

Have you ever walked into a room only to realize once you’re in there, that you don’t remember why you were headed there in the first place?  Or walked up and down the aisles at the local big box store, trying to remember everything you needed, only to get home and realize you forgot something?

We all have.  In fact, I probably forget at least half a dozen things every day.  It’s probably a product of our busy, overscheduled lives.  But one thing that I try not to forget, even in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, is what God has done in my life.

The Bible instructs us to remember what God has done and not to forget His wonders.  Yet, so many of us do forget when it comes to trusting Him with our future.

If we are faced with a big decision or a situation that requires a lot of faith on our part, one of the best things we can do is reflect back on what God has already done in our lives.  Remembering the things that God has already brought us through and the miracles He’s already performed in our lives, helps us to have confidence and faith about the future.  Reflecting on the way God has blessed us in the past helps to calm fear and worry about the unknown.

The miracles we read about in the Bible are definitely awe-inspiring and encouraging.  But sometimes, all we need to do is remember the wonders God has done in our own lives.  And rest in the knowledge that He will continue to be with you, no matter what the future holds.
