Over the weekend, “Modern Family” star, Sarah Hyland, said “I do” to her longtime lover, Wells Adams after three years of being engaged. It is reported that the couple had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Sunstone Winery near Santa Barbra, California surrounded by close friends and family.
The pair has yet to share any photos from their big day, but some of Hyland’s “Modern Family” costars, such as Sophia Vergara, made sure to give the world a few snippets from the ceremony. In one post Vergara shared a photo booth picture with a few other “Modern Family” costars captioning it, “#sarahandwellswedding,” which was followed by heart emojis.
Along with Vergara, some of Hyland’s other “Modern Family” costars attended the wedding such as Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould. The costars have a long history together after they wrapped their show in 2020 after 11 seasons together and 22 Emmy nominations.
Hyland and Adams have been together since 2017 after meeting on social media, before the “Bachelor in Paradise” star got down on one knee in July 2019 after almost two years of dating. Adams planned an elaborate beach proposal which included drone video and photography and of course, a beautiful ring.
They were originally set to marry in 2020, but had to postpone multiple times due to the coronavirus pandemic. After the initial postponement, Adams joked telling People magazine if they had to postpone the wedding any longer, “we’re just gonna go to Vegas or the courthouse.” Luckily there were no more setbacks, and the pair got to wed on a beautiful August day this past weekend.
Back in July, Hyland spoke in an interview about her potential plans to not take Adams’ last name. She spoke about how her mother never took her father’s name, meaning it had never really been a focal point for her growing up.
“My mom didn’t take my father’s last name, so that’s never been a thing for me,” she told E! News.
Hyland also mentioned how she loves to be referred to as “Mrs. Adams” for things like reservations, so she hasn’t made her mind up yet. She continued by saying, “I do like being called ‘Mrs. Adams’ when we’re on vacation and stuff, and if the reservation’s under his name, I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I’m so cute.’ But I don’t know. Haven’t decided on it.” I guess we will just have to wait and see!
The couple is reportedly excited to officially be married after nearly 5 years, who already have a house together and share some adorable dogs.
Congrats to the newlyweds!
