Chris Hemsworth went on a precious date with his wife, Elsa Pataky, who was dressed an as older version of herself in order to help Hemsworth overcome some recent concerns about his health. This comes soon after Hemsworth announced that he will temporarily be stepping away from his acting career after learning that he is genetically predisposed to Alzheimers, which is the most common type of dementia that overtime affects things like memory, thinking and behavior. He documented this discovery in his docuseries on Disney+ called “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth.” He expressed his biggest fear after hearing the news by saying, “The idea that I won’t be able to remember the life I’ve experienced, or my wife, my kids ― this is probably my biggest fear.” In one of the episodes, his wife, Pataky, wanted to help Hemsworth overcome his fears of not remembering her as she gets older by dressing up as an 87-year-old version of herself with the help of makeup, prosthetics and a wig.
In the episode, Hemsworth is led to believe that he will be meeting an elderly fan, but upon meeting, he realized it was his wife. “You’re still beautiful,” he told her. Hemsworth explained the feelings involved with the moment by saying, “What is quite confronting is approaching that age on my own,” he said in the episode. “What makes it less scary is having someone to experience it with. Having people around you that you love makes me feel a lot more accepting.” Pataky also gave her side, saying she felt quite “vulnerable” by the experience. “Aging is frightening, especially with women and in this society,” she explained. “It made me think about how much value we give to youth.”
Hemsworth and Pataky have been married since 2010 and share three children together, daughter India, 10, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 8.
