Scout Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis, recently took to her Instagram story to express her feelings after their family announced Bruce’s new diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. “Feeling emotionally tired and a bit overwhelmed, yet also very in awe of the love so many people have for my papa,” she wrote on her Instagram story just hours after her family shared Bruce’s diagnosis. Her sister, Tallulah, chimed in by reposting her story and writing, “Second this Scouter. Feeling the abundant love for our guy and our family.” Rumer, the oldest sister, also reposted Scout’s story adding, “I third this Scouter and Tallulah feeling so deeply grateful and in awe of the love for us and our sweet Daddio.”

The news of Bruce’s dementia diagnosis came just moths after his family announced that he was suffering from aphasia, which is a language disorder that affects people’s ability to speak and communicate. Demi Moore announced his new diagnosis by saying, “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis. Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

Bruce shares three daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah with ex-wife Demi Moore. The couple got married in 1987 before divorcing in 2000. Bruce remarried in 2009 to Emma Heming where they share two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn. The blended family has remained close through the years, and has continued to stay tight-knit as Bruce battles his dementia diagnosis.
