Adam Sandler recently revealed the advice he gave his daughters after they decided to follow in his footsteps in Hollywood. Sandler shares two daughters, Sadie, 17, and Sunny, 15, with his wife Jackie Sandler. All four of the family members appeared in the movie “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” which was released earlier this year.
The family came together to work on another project, animated film “Leo,” coming out later this year. At the premiere of the new movie, Sandler shared the tips he gave his daughters to help them with their Hollywood careers. “I tell them to make sure you feel good about what you do and how hard you worked, and you judge yourself,” he told People. “Don’t let too many people try to get in your head. If you feel like you gave it your all, that’s all you can ask.” When asked about his thoughts on working with his wife and daughters, Sandler said, “[It’s] always fun to be with my family. It’s kind of what they are thinking about getting into and their passion, and so it’s good to learn with them.” Sandler also discussed the possibility of his family starring in any other movies with in in the future where he said, “You never know, but we had a great time at that bat mitzvah movie. And this one, we started doing this four years ago, and they grew up a little bit while doing this movie, so it’s been really nice.”
Jackie and Adam first met on set of the movie “Big Daddy” where Jackie had a small role as a waitress. Four years later, the pair tied the knot. They celebrated their 20 year anniversary in June 2023 where Adam wrote a sweet Instagram post in honor of the special day. “Happy 20th my sweet Jackie! Your ‘I do’ was the best gift of my life,” wrote the actor. “My heart has been yours since the first second I saw you and I love and appreciate your devoted soul more and more each day. Us. The kids. Lets keep going and going babe. Lots of love to give you. Always.”
Sandler has always had a close relationship with his two daughters. In a 2006 Access Hollywood interview, Sandler shared what it was like when he first became a father. “You know what was funny? When my kid was born, I was so nervous, I didn’t know what I felt,” he said at the time.”Five minutes later, maybe 10 minutes later, it was me and the kid and a nurse. We walked down alone to just check the vital signs and all that stuff, and I had a chemical reaction in my body, where I loved the kid so much, and I was so nervous for her, and that’s when I lost my mind for the kid.”
