I got home late from our youth service last night.  That’s typical for a Wednesday night.  Our ministry team interacts with scores of students.

As I laid in my bed, I began to wonder, “What makes all these kids show up every week?”

That’s when it hit me.  They come for the same reason I come.  They want to feel like they matter.  They want to feel valuable.

Really! I love it when someone compliments me.  It’s great when I get an ‘attaboy’ from a friend or coworker.

If I love that, why wouldn’t I do that for others?  Golden Rule? Sure. But more…

A great leader knows how to make others feel valuable.  I know, I know.  Some people WANT to be miserable. Fine.  But for the rest that are looking for meaning in life, a leader can give that.

So here is our simple challenge this week: What if we tried to make everyone around feel valuable?  What would happen? After all, we like it.
