It’s All About Good Vibrations
“Good, good, good vibrations…” the Beach Boys said it best. I know most of you didn’t grow up listening to the Beach Boys but you probably heard of them or at least heard their song: “Good Vibrations”– if not, look it up, it’s a fun tune and it will get you in a good mood.
Once you’re in a good mood you automatically generate good vibrations. These good vibrations create positive energy, connect you with your higher power and draw more positive situations into your life.
Just what are good vibrations?
Think happy, really happy. I mean clap your feet in the air happy – now that’s sending out some good vibrations.
Okay so maybe you’re not going to clap your feet in the air every morning or when you’re at work. Actually, you don’t even have to clap your feet in the air, especially if you’ve never done it before; you could just end up hurting yourself. You just have to feel like you want to clap your feet in the air.
That’s the kind of joy and happiness you want to feel so you can develop that positive energy that just makes your day shine brighter.
The best way to do that is to be happy, I know, it’s easier said than done. But as always I’ve got a few suggestions for what you can do to be happy.
There will always be things that happen which will get you down and make you feel a little sad. Before you know it those negative feelings can spread and keep you down for most of the day, then another day, and then another and can just keep going on.
Get Rid Of Negative Feelings
Carrying those negative feelings lowers your vibrations and instead of attracting positive situations, you attract more negative situations, the kind that will keep you feeling sad.
You’ll just end up getting more of what you don’t want.
So when you get down, feel sad, or just have a touch of the blues, don’t let those negative feelings spread and put you into a negative tailspin.
Instead, turn things around by thinking of something good, something that makes you feel better, or if you really want to turn things around quickly, think of something that makes you feel happy. For me I just think of my kids doing silly things (as all kids do) and in an instant I’ve put an end to the negative feelings and started creating positive vibrations.
Keep It Simple
Don’t make it too complicated, just keep it simple. Think of something that just makes you feel a little better. You can go back as far as you want, all the way to childhood if you feel like it. Or just think of your favorite song (as long as it isn’t a sad song).
As soon as you’ve made that shift, where you’re sending out good vibrations and creating positive energy you start to connect with your higher power and begin drawing positive situations into your life.
Now make it a habit and start thinking of happy or positive things when you wake up in the morning. Push yourself to be happy as often as you can.
If you catch yourself thinking about something somebody said or did, change the thought to something positive. Look for something to be happy about. Remember – keep it simple it will make it easier for you to be happy.
You can also do something to make you feel better, like having a nice warm coffee on a cool day (one of my favs) or anything you like.
You Decide
Now you might be thinking that you feel the way you do because that’s just the way it is, you just feel down and you think it’s okay. Well it is if that’s the way you want to feel and continue feeling.
Would you rather stay sad and have more negativity creep into your life, because it’s just the way you feel? Or would you rather change that feeling, be happy and allow more positive things to enter your life so you feel better and have a better experience?
If you prefer the latter option, where you get to be happy (my choice hands down) then practice what I suggested.
Be Happy Everyday
When you wake up in the morning push yourself to think of something positive and something that makes you happy. Just the fact that you’re alive; waking up and about to experience another day on this terrific planet is positive view and will get you to being happy a lot sooner.
Then practice being happy throughout the day so you’re always raising those “Good, good, good vibrations…”
