This morning I was interviewed on WNYC’s “The Takeaway,” a Public Radio International Program. To listen to the clip, click here. The interview discusses my own views and experience of prenatal testing with all three pregnancies, and it also includes a discussion with sociologist Barbara Katz Rothman, who provides an explanation for why prenatal testing has developed into its current form. I was pleased with how the interview unfolded, but I will register two regrets. One, I used the words “risk” of Down syndrome, and I prefer these days to say “chance.” Two, I never used Penny’s name! Oh well. As I say in the interview, I’m still learning what it means to be human.
