I have found myself watching birds a lot lately. With the exception of the bluejay or cardinal I can’t really name the specific birds, so I’m no bird watcher. But what I have been noticing is how free the birds seem. They don’t live by the time clock. They can stay as long or as short a time as they desire when they land, sometimes only for fifteen seconds, and only answer to nature. I’ve heard or read the scripture passage about the birds of the air being fed even though they cannot read or so.

As a worry wart I need to be reminded from time to time that God will indeed take care of even when I am so anxious. Do you ever find yourself worrying what you will do or how things will go with the people you love? Watch the birds this week and ask God to help you realize your own freedom and God’s great care for you.
