When I travel and see remnants of old barns or rundown houses, I can’t help but wonder what these things looked like in their glory days. Take this fireplace, for instance. It might not have been a major architectural wonder in its day, but it provided warmth on cold nights and provided heat for cooking nourishment.
Perhaps you can consider the bricks that make up this fireplace as pieces of your faith, stacked up on top of each other. Some of the bricks are still in perfect shape and maybe those represent the core of your faith. Others have chips in them when perhaps we didn’t get a chance to fully grasp a lesson.
