No, this time Doing Good Stuff

As part of his desire to better the neighborhood, Angi became a volunteer probation officer for the Hamilton County courts system.

About six people on probation, all of them neighborhood residents, report to him at his sparsely furnished office on West Eighth Street.

He does the same things a paid probation officer does — in some cases asking a judge to revoke a person’s probation.

Since his charges live nearby, he sees them regularly, and he can keep a better eye on them than an officer with an office downtown might.

“I didn’t want to deal with just people who are writing bad checks,” Angi said. “I want to deal with drug dealers and those who are causing the real trouble.”
