BishopAccountability.org has posted the bishops’ diocesan surveys and instructions on which their upcoming February 27 report will be based. These surveys and instructions are essential for understanding the value and limitations of the bishops’ project to count: 1) number of allegedly abusive priests, 2) number of victims, 3) money spent on treatment and settlements, and 4) many other kinds of information. The February 27 John Jay report will be a tabulation and analysis of many thousand completed surveys.
