Ray Schmidt, one St. Joseph High School parent commented,“At first I thought it was a little harsh, but then I read that he actually has a pro-choice stance. Being as though I had 16 years of Catholic schooling and my kids have gone to Catholic schools and I’m a Catholic, you can’t be inconsistent.”

Bob Mysliwiec, another parent, disagrees. He said, “I guess my thought is you ought to be able to have an opinion and that St. Joseph should be willing to say, ‘yes his opinion is this’ and whether or not it’s the same as St. Joseph’s, I think he’s entitled to say what he says.”
