Catholic school teacher fired for having child baptized in a Protestant church.

But Abigail’s baptism in her father’s Protestant church – to which her proud mother invited school colleagues – violated the terms of Anne Souza’s contract at St. Mary’s School, according to pastor Monsignor John Oliveira.

“I can’t put on this robe and be a Catholic priest and say it makes no difference what people do. It does make a difference,” Oliveira said. “She has made her choice. I have to abide by the choice I’ve made to represent the Catholic Church.”
