The lesson again – when a situation becomes known, seriously just don’t bother with church authorities and go straight to the law and social services. Yes, they have their own problems, and getting the victim to cooperate can be a challenge (as it was here), but putting the stonewalling, protective wall of Catholic school and diocesan bureaucrats in the mix just makes it worse.

And do you know what else? Trust your instincts. If a priest is hanging out with kids, they know his cel phone number and have access to his ATM card….you’re right. There’s something wrong with that.
