I can’t catch up on all the news swirling about the last day or so, but will just post a few items and thoughts.

Last night, I had the pleasure of speaking to the Columbus chapter of Legatus. Nice group, as usual, with one of the more interesting folks there a man who works with Material Assistance Providers of Columbus, or, in simpler terms, a furniture bank. (Its success are mentioned in this article from the Cleveland paper, addressing that city’s inadequacies in the area). Talked DVC, heard that they were following me up with a much bigger name next month – Raymond Arroyo, on his Mother Angelica bio tour.

I had never been to Columbus, only through it, and was sort of impressed with the downtown. I liked it – interesting structures, plenty of businesses  – well, it is the capitol, I know. But after the desert of Fort Wayne, whose idea of downtown development is to put a big JAIL on the corner across from the land where all the festivals, etc. are held..it was a pleasant ten minutes of touring before I finally found where I was supposed to be.

And it’s sad when the other highlight of your trip is finding gas at a bargain price – and that price is $2.43 a gallon.
