Computer situation still on edge…I may put a bloggerbleg out for some help for yet another situation, but I’ll wait and see if the answers to my questions come from another source first. Got it?

A few things, a couple in this post and another in the next…

Saw Capote tonight with son David, who is visiting. Superb. Can’t recommend it enough, particularly for anyone interested in the creative process. It is a complex character exploration, with the the mutual exploitation of Truman Capote and Perry Smith at the centerpiece, and a stark look at the relationship of artist to subject and to audience and success, in general. Hoffman’s performance is a marvel, and should win an Oscar, she confidently predicts.  My son wondered to me afterward if it wasn’t over-the-top, until I reassured him that if he had ever seen tape of Capote, he would see that it wasn’t, and moreover, that Hoffman brings out the conflicted, narcissistic, at times deceitful, yet humane-despite-himself character of Capote. Absolutely time well spent.
