I see the most interesting things down at our corner convenience store. Couple of weeks ago, it was the bishop. This morning:

A rather scruffy-looking trash can set out on the floor in front of the counter. Two pieces of paper are taped to it. One bears an image of the Sacred Heart. The other, a message that was something like this: "Hello. Our names our Jane and Joan. We are members of a Catholic girl’s club called Challenge. We are collecting "Cans for Christ" to raise money for a birthday party for our founder, Fr. Maciel, on March 10. Please help…" etc. etc.

So, when did Fr. Maciel become Christ?

And….well. I’m just going to assume that the money will go to one of the many worthy LC apostolates out there. I will assume that, promise.
