A week or so ago, I blogged on an Italian television show about a priest-detecitve, a show that’s quite popular. A reader writes:

We watch Italian Don Matteo in RAI International.  Unquestionably the
producer & director are people of real faith.  We have never seen a
program that so deeply expressed the spirituality of a Catholic Priest.
Don Matteo is not a "Fr. Dowling" who wants to solve cases but rather a
real Priest who is concerned with the spiritual welfare of his
parishioners, and in the process has insights into what is happening around him
and consequently solves the cases.  EWTN would do well to get the U.S.
Rights.  The show would do well.

Fascinating that the show’s such a hit in Italy. A good sign?
