Archbishop Dolan offers a Mass of Reparation:

Located in southern Washington County, the 150-year-old shrine was owned by the Milwaukee Archdiocese until 1906. It now belongs to a separate Roman Catholic order known as the Discalced Carmelite Friars.

He told the crowd of more than 750 gathered inside the main church for the late afternoon Mass that the "gross acts of desecration" served as a helpful reminder of evil’s existence, adding that it also has stirred the spirit of the region’s faith community.

"We trust that the invincible power of Christ will reclaim this sanctuary from the forces of evil," he said.
