A letter writer corrects the NYTimes:
In "A German Pope Confronts The Nazi Past at Auschwitz" (news article, May 29), you say that Pope Benedict XVI "met with 32 survivors of the camp, all but one Polish Catholics." In all fairness, after his homily he met with some 12 Diaspora Jews — no Christians.
As one of them, I presented him with a beautiful edition of "The Jews of Czestochowa," inscribed with Psalm 133. When I explained the significance of "two brothers living in friendship," he squeezed my hand, nodded and said, "As it should be."
