Another voice to explore is Takashi Nagai, another physician, Catholic convert, who had just been diagnosed with leukemia a few weeks before the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing his wife. He lived for six more years, researching atomic radiation disease, involved in efforts to help those, especially children, suffering, and authored books, including The Bells of Nagasaki.
