Dawn Eden posts a moving video – a young woman’s testimony at a Waco City Council Meeting – on how sidewalk counselers outside an abortion clinic impacted her life – and her son’s.

A long time ago, I was sort of involved on the national level of Feminists for Life – we’re talking 20 years ago, when it was scattered and not as much a presence as it is now and of course, way before the internet, so let’s just say being a "local chapter coordinator" or whatever I tried to do for a few months was a bit of a challenge.  They did have their book out – Pro-Life Feminism, which has been reissued in a slightly different form, I believe. Reading that book and meeting women like Rachel McNair, Rosemary Bottcher and others really changed my life – finding the like-minded tends to do that.

I remember once riding somewhere in a car with Rosemary and a couple of others, and people were talking rhetorical strategy and so forth and  Rosemary broke in and said firmly, "It’s about the babies. We have to keep the focus on the babies always and never let up. Real people are being killed, people who have the right to life."

It’s what the opposition just doesn’t understand, for reasons that never fail to mystify me. Lost in that fog that perhaps they create themselves, they refuse to see – even when confronted with testimony like that above, with a real little boy playing with his mama’s hair while she speaks of what might have been but, because of quiet prayers and helpful souls, mercifully wasn’t.
