Fr. Robert Barron has added cultural commentary – in the form of film reviews that are posted on YouTube – to his repertoire. Fargo and The Departed are up. They are very well produced, and Fr. Barron is his usual clear, engaging self. Check it out and pass it on!
Sort of, kind of related, there’s a new little booklet out, published by OSV, and written by Peter Kreeft: The Pocket Guide to the Meaning of Life (part of a new series, as I’m sure you’ve discerned from the title). If you do any kind of evangelism work, if you work in a parish or in catechesis, with college students – this is a little booklet you really need to check out – 60 pages, 67 Q & A, very brief, readable and engaging, focusing the reader on his or her need for God and what the consequences of that are for life and the living of it, now and forever. Very good. I don’t see any indication at the OSV catalog site that they’re offering any particular bulk discount aside from the usual 25% institution discount, but if they were smart – they would. They could sell a ton. If you decide you need a few, suggest it.
