The Anatomical Museum in Modena, Italy, which consists of a collection of simply astonishing obstetrical models realized by Giovan Battista Manfredini in Modena between 1773 and 1775.

Almost full-scale models of women in various stages of pregnancy, skin and other layers peeled away (no, not Bodyworks!) , and cutaways of unborn babies in utero in various positions – used, I assume, to demonstrate how to get them out.

(Caution – at the bottom of the page is a collection of preserved newborns with various deformities and anomalies)
