What does “Catholic Social Teaching” and Catholic teaching in general say about health care and the responsibility of a society to provide it?
And how does this relate to: 1) the present reality in the US and 2) the major party candidate’s proposals?

Health care is a complex issue, natch, but the point of the question is to address the assumption in some quarters that a single-payer system is naturally more in tune with “Catholic Social Teaching” than any other system or non-system.
