A varia post, filled with tidbits from email and the blogs…then I’ll be tiptoing out of here for a while. Just expect the most sporadic blogging until mid-July, and then who knows what after that.
The cultural illiteracy of the easy atheists.

I write now to request that you consider mentioning the new DVD called "Champions of Faith: Baseball Edition." It’s an hour-long documentary on the Catholic faith of various contemporary baseball players, coaches, and managers. I watched it last night and found it to be outstanding. It’s really well produced, engaging to watch, and not heavy-handed in its presentation of the faith in these lives. I have a 13-year-old son, and I think it would be perfect for boys his age. In fact, I’m going to give it to his Catholic school and ask that it be shown there.

Interesting info: The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) has started a facebook group called "The Great Canadian Wish List." On it, you can support or create any wish that you have for Canada’s future. Suprisingly, given that this is Canada, the group "Abolish Abortion in Canada" is in the lead by about a thousand supporters, with "Keep Canada Pro-Choice" in second place, "For a Spiritual Revival in Canada" in third place, and "Restore the Traditional Definition of Marriage" in fourth. CBC is very liberal, so I’m sure they’re going nuts that this is happening and it’s really very public. They’re going to announce the most popular wish on July 1st (Canada Day) and there has already been much coverage in the news. This is an interesting story because it’s mostly young people on facebook, so yeah, go young generation!! 🙂I know you have Canadian readers and they have friends who are Canadian, and if we could just get the word out to people to join facebook and join this group, CBC will have to give this tons of coverage and who knows what will happen? So on to my request – could you post on this? I think this little facebook movement has the chance to really change things in Canada. Here is the Facebook link.
