…everyone is fighting a great battle…This from a reader who hopes for our prayers for this family:

Our good friends, the Browns, are going through the crucible right now.I’m sure you remember, the Browns are a family that converted in themid-90’s en masse from the Presbyterian Church of America.  Bruce andBarbara were guests on "The Journey Home" with Marcus Grodi in ’98.Zach, their 19 year old (they also have a 24 yr old son, Josh, and a 22yr old daughter, Anna Grace), is the co-sponsor of the blog spot that I sent you a link to a while back (the one you forwarded to Amy Welborn).

At any rate,… Barbara has been diagnosed with acute (Stage IV)melanoma.  The best that the doctors are giving her is 15% survival rate (after 7 years) and they tell her that she likely will not make it past Christmas. :o(

Bruce and Barbara are hard core Catholics now … and they have a strong faith community in their Atlanta parish and our Chatt Cath Homeschoolers.  Still, it is a tough situation.  Barbara has, of course, decided to fight with all she has but it is going to be hell at best, even if she survives.

To further complicate,… Zach recently received a music scholarship and is supposed to start his first semester.  That may be on hold.  And,…. He has been diagnosed with an "atypical" mole on his back and has what appears to be subtle lesions.  I pray that he not have melanoma as well.

Also,… Bruce recently had a minor heart attack (due to stress).
Needless to say the Browns need your fervent prayers.  Please remembe them.
