Rome streets were filled with these:

Jimmy Mac comments on them in this post – they really were everywhere. Some parked, as you can see in the photo on that post, perpendicular to the wall, rather than parallel. They were tiny, tiny, tiny – are there any plans to sell them here, does anyone know? There were also tiny little vans and tiny little pick-up trucks. And lots, lots, lots of motorcycles, many driven by stylish Roman women in their scarves and boots. Well, I think the scarves were tucked in, perhaps with Isidore Duncan in mind. But I’m sure they were there, because as I told Katie, if she wanted to adopt the Roman look when she got home, all she would need would be boots, scarves, and maybe some big earrings as well.

But I think Joseph could have driven one of those SmartCars!
